Matchweek 25 delivered drama at both ends of the Premier League table, with the title race very much alive after a chaotic weekend. Arsenal looked to have taken a huge stride towards the crown by easing past Sunderland to move nine points clear, only for Manchester City to roar back late at Anfield, overturning Liverpool to stay within six and keep the pressure firmly on. Aston Villa’s title momentum continued to stall with a frustrating draw at Bournemouth, while Manchester United and Chelsea both made ground in the top-four race thanks to convincing wins over Tottenham and Wolves. There was movement in the relegation fight too, as Leeds boosted their survival hopes, West Ham edged closer to safety, and Everton showed trademark resilience with a comeback at Fulham. Add in Cole Palmer’s devastating first-half hat-trick, Erling Haaland’s ice-cold injury-time penalty, and Brentford’s latest statement win at Newcastle, and Matchweek 25 had just about everything.

Premier League Gameweek 25 Top Performers

James Justin (Leeds United) - 8.37

James Justin produced one of his most complete performances of Leed's season as they secured a vital 3–1 win over Nottingham Forest at Elland Road, a result that significantly eased their relegation fears. Deployed as a central defender, Justin combined composure at the back with real attacking intent, playing the full 90 minutes and driving Leeds forward whenever space opened up. His key contribution came with an assist for Leeds’ second goal, where he followed up his own rebound before calmly pulling the ball back into the box for a simple finish. With the three points lifting Leeds nine points clear of the drop zone, this is a result warmly welcomed by a relieved Elland Road crowd.

Stats: 2 shots, 1 on target, 4 key passes, 3 aerial duels won, 81 touches, 2 tackles, 2 interceptions, 2 cleaeances, 4 crosses, 6 long balls

Diogo Dalot (Manchester United) - 8.26

Diogo Dalot continued his excellent form under Michael Carrick with a powerful display at right-back in Manchester United’s 2–0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford. Constantly available on the overlap, Dalot was a major attacking outlet and capped his performance with a pinpoint whipped cross in the 81st minute, which Bruno Fernandes converted to seal the victory. Earlier, Dalot tested Guglielmo Vicario with a driven long-range effort and was heavily involved in sustained periods of United pressure, linking well with Amad Diallo and Matheus Cunha on the right flank. Defensively, he remained disciplined, helping United maintain control and secure a clean sheet. It was another display that underlined Dalot’s growing importance in a United side now enjoying four consecutive league wins.

Stats: 2 shots, 1 on target, 2 key passes, 1 assist, 97% passing accuracy, 80 touches, 4 tackles
